Plastic Soldier Company - Universal Carrier

Specially for Alan, I've part assembled the PSC Universal carrier to give a scale comparison with the old Airfix model

Discussions with Will from PSC on Saturday revealed that not only will there be a Lloyd Carrier and 6 pdr gun, but also a conversion kit for other variants Mortar/MMG, Wasp and even the early scout carrier.

Very nice paint jobs on both. Good work Will.

Size difference is not surprising. The old Airfix model is 1/76 whereas the PSC model is 1/72.

Phil, I know it's not 6mm but the PSC version is unpainted.

Mike, the Airfix carrier model is slightly under scale and others like the Crusader are over scale - hence Alan's desire to check as the real scale seems to vary by manufacturer.

Still, it's a lovely model and measures 50mm mudguard to mudguard, or 48mm for the hull compared to the quoted 12 foot length means it must be close to 1/72

Very nice looking vehicles!

Thanks for the comparison pics. Now someone needs to make the Aussie LP2 or put out a conversion set.

EY, thanks for that, I didn't know about the LP2 version, perhaps you should contact PSC and see if they can include some extra bits for it in their future variant box, although the front glasis change might be a simple job of removing the existing one and replacing it with a new one from plasticard.
